I am a father of 4, a full-time physician, movie-fan, BSA Scout Parent, part-time gamer, and I have a touch of the prepper. With my love of science and tech, my main goal is to ensure I get the best product and price. My kids and I love games on our Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, Meta Quest 2, iPad Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

To case or not to case, that is the question… When it comes to my portable iDevices (iPhone 5, iPhone 6s Plus and my iPad Air 2), I have chosen to trust one name and that is Otterbox. I would not classify myself as a case snob, as I am more than willing to give a competitor their fair chance. I have seriously thought about the Lifeproof cases (the case was not available for my 6s plus when I bought my device). I have also considered many of the other cases combined with a zag shield for the screen. When…

Templar Battleforce iOS Game Review 1

Enjoyable way to spend downtime. Do you remember free time? Do you remember sitting down with hours of time with a single task, to conquer that game? As we get older our free time tends to slip away. Here is a game you can use to fill what down time you have available. I have been a fan of Action, RPG and JRPG since the days of Nintendo – yes, the 8-bit system that many of us built our gaming history upon. I remember hours of Legend of Zelda (yeah I know action, but there is strategy), Dragon Quest, Final…

Great charger for traveling. I have a confession. Other than buying the larger 12W Apple USB Power adapter for my iPad 2 a few years ago, I have never purchased a wall charger. Honestly, unless you have the New Nintendo 3DS XL (does not ship with a charger if any kind), why would you need to buy a wall charger? Devices usually ship with a charger. I have been given a LEFUN 18 Watt Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 USB Adapter to review for you. The device ships in a brown box with a surrounding white slip cover. The packaging is…

Good for charging many devices. Power is a must and portable power is becoming the norm rather than the exception. I often find myself with more day than battery and often look for ways to charge my devices, specifically my Nintendo 3DS XL, iPhone 6s Plus and iPad Air 2.  My family and I have recently begun to enjoy camping, both tent camping and motorhome camping. In these situations, I do not always have readily available AC current to charge my devices. Here the EACHINE Model X-power X3 device becomes an option to have on hand.  Luckily, I have one…

Kit provides capable monopod and awesome lens. Let me begin by announcing that I am not a part of the selfie culture. I take pictures of my family, my wife, my children and their activities, and rarely find myself within shutter shot of a camera. I have seen YouTube videos, I have been to events and I have directly seen many of today’s youth and those who are not so youthful, following trend and using selfie sticks. Alas, many places now ban selfie sticks for various reasons. You can guess at many of the reasons, especially when reminded that these…

As far as I can remember, I have had a car charger in my vehicle. These were often ugly and large. Some of you may even remember back when cords were curly and you wrapped your fingers around the cords during conversations. These have been replaced with USB car chargers, which are smaller and less of an eyesore.

The battle between lock and lock pick has been waged as long as one person has had something that another wanted. As a person who has been through 13 years of secondary education, I can tell you that tech and more importantly well-kept and safe tech are an important part of an academic world. Just get that new HP or that new Lenovo? Do you live in a place with roommates or high traffic flow or a dorm or a fraternity house perhaps? If you answered yes to any of these then you may want to consider a theft deterrent system. The key word here is deterrent.

In my family, we have a love of old and new technology. My boys ages 6 and 4 (6 month old daughter, too) get to play with tech regularly. They regularly watch movies, play games, watch TV cartoons or YouTube videos (surprise egg videos are their thing right now) on my iPad 2 or iPad Air 2.

It is a blessing and a frustration that each iOS update brings new changes to known apps. The camera app is no different. Am I alone in filling up my device with images and videos? I suspect if you are reading this article, this is not unusual. So many images, so little space.
