Chair provides comfort and support for long days of work – or gaming.
When you sit at a desk as long as I do throughout the day, you need a chair that is comfortable, supportive, and versatile. I, like so many other people, started working from home last year. When I did, I ended up being more stationary than usual. My job dictated that I be reachable throughout the workday and that meant being behind my desk. After years of sitting behind a desk, I know where to look for a chair that is going to hold up through my workday. As it turns out gaming chairs tend to be the most durable, comfortable option for long-term desk jobs. They are reinforced for long-term gameplay so it would stand to reason that gaming chairs would also work for people who sit for work. Over the past few months, I’ve been using the Spieltek 400 Series Gaming Chair and been very grateful for its support while I work.
DETAILS
The Spieltek 400 Series chair offers users a premium experience. The chair is designed to be heavy-duty and offers a more spacious sitting experience. The bolsters are wider around the seat and backrest, which produces a larger comfort area. The frame is metal with an aluminum wheelbase, contoured seat, and backrest. The armrests are “4D” and fully customizable. The padding is soft but firm. The chair supports up to 350 pounds and is backed with a lifetime warranty for the frame and a 2-year warranty on the other parts. USER EXPERIENCE
The Spieltek 400 Series chair arrived in a large shipping box and all the pieces were wrapped up with some form of protective packaging. The chair does require assembly, but it’s a fairly simple process and can be completed in under 30 minutes. The first thing I did was to unwrap all the pieces and lay them out to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. One of the things I liked about the Spieltek accessory kit is that they include a set of white gloves with the bolts and hex wrenches. The purpose of these gloves it to keep your hands free from any grease or dirt that might be on the chair pieces.
The assembly process is intuitive and if you’ve ever put a gaming chair together, you will be able to put this one together without any issues. The seat base has the arms pre-attached and the first step is to attach the seat to the back. You do this by lining up the bracket from the seat with the pre-drilled holes in the back’s sides. Once those bolts are in place, you will snap the plastic protective covering for the brackets onto the brackets. The next step is to remove the screws from the bottom of the seat. These will be used to attach the control base onto the bottom of the seat. This base is what is used to raise and lower the seat.
Once that piece is attached you will need to insert the wheels into the wheelbase. One of the final steps is to insert the hydraulic cylinder into the wheelbase. Once all those steps are completed you will lift the seat/back assembly onto the wheelbase. Even though a single person could do this step alone, I would recommend having someone help you because it’s much safer and you get done quicker.
The assembly of the Spieltek 400 Series chair was very easy and pretty standard as far as gaming chairs go. I was very excited to get this chair completed because it is designed for someone with a larger frame – like me. The wider seat is very comfortable and there is plenty of room to adjust and move around if you wish. While I thought the seat cushion is firm, it is still very comfortable. One of the best features of this chair is its accessory pillows. They are soft and made with memory foam. They feel very luxurious and I’ve never really had anything like them with a gaming chair. The tilt on the chair is extreme and it is very easy to take a nap in it once you prop your feet up. I don’t typically rock a whole lot when I work, but my fiance does. So, I asked him to try it out, too, and he said that it has a smooth rocking motion. The base is very sturdy and I would suspect it will last for quite a while. I do, however, worry about the wheels.
CONCLUSION
The Spieltek 400 Series chair is comfortable and relaxing – even when I work. It’s a fairly affordable option (retails for $300 at the time of publishing) and seems like a solid choice as a gaming or working chair.
