split silicone Iphone 13 Pro Max Case
I enjoyed the bi-tone color pattern, the cutout positioning, the raised screen protection, the raised camera protection, and the touch-feel of the power and volume buttons. The backing material added a grip factor, without feeling tacky or grimy. I loved that the company chose to use recycled products for their packaging and phone cases. My only complaint about the case was the shallow volume toggle cutout. Strong MagSafe compatible magnets were included and touted at 50% thicker than industry competitors. In summary, the company provided a sexy, sleek slim iPhone case design. Enjoy quality construction with environmentally friendly, recycled materials.

As I upgrade to the latest iPhone model each year, I often question the value/price of the device. I promised myself that this cycle would be different and that I would likely hold off one additional year. This promise lasts at least until the September/October release event when the new iPhone finds itself in my shopping cart.
Luckily, I have yet to experience buyer remorse with this saga, especially when considering the ~$3.28 per day cost of owning the latest tech. I do not stop for a $2.95-$3.65 coffee at the local Starbucks, I do not smoke, and I rarely (if ever) drink alcohol. Thus, I can easily stomach ~$4 per day for a device that I use in some way 10-18+ hours per day.
Even though I purchase Apple Care + for my Apple products, I still opt to protect my devices with cases. I cannot fathom keeping an iPhone au naturel and letting it out for a stroll sans protection. However, I have seen many people basking in the risk of a naked phone. I can understand the detraction for some against a bulky, full HulkBuster style waterproof, event-proof case like the Total Impact Case from Catalyst. However, a simple bumper-style case like the split silicone case from atom studios simply makes sense.
The atom studios split iPhone 13 Pro Max case arrived in an attractive 4 3/8 inches wide by 7 7/8 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches thick retail hanging style package. The company name was listed at the top of the cover panel, while most of the information was presented on a centrally oriented light/dark grey slipcover.
The midline segment detailed the silver aluminum and stone silicone iPhone 13 Pro Max case color scheme, the premium eco-material design, the compatibility with MagSafe, and the reassuringly protective shell.
The rear panel provided the atom studios logo, product name, QR code, silicone/metal shell information, and six product defining options: 1. Sustainable/Recycled/Durable materials. 2. Real Life Drop Testing. 3. MagSafe Compatible. 4. Slim Design. 5. Microfiber lining, 6. Plastic Free/100% recyclable packaging. Lastly, you will find an SKU barcode, information about the 2-year warranty, and copyright information.
I slid the inner tray downward and found the 3 1/4 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches tall split case resting upon an internal cardboard pedestal. The-1.5 ounce case had a 2 1/8 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches wide silver-metallic aluminum section atop a 4 3/8 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches wide tan silicone base. You will find an atom logo etched into the surface of the top right of the aluminum section and a slightly-raised 1 1/2 inches wide by 1 9/16 inches tall camera cutout at the left.
The light tan base segment wrapped around the side, top, and bottom of the case. The left side panel provided a 3/4 inches long by 1/8 inches wide silicone power button and dual 1/8 inches wide by 1/16 inches tall cutouts. The right side panel provided a 3/8 inches wide by 3/16 inches tall volume toggle cutout and dual 15/32 inches long by 1/8 inches wide silicone volume buttons. Along the bottom of the panel, you will find a central 1/2 inches wide by 9/32 inches lightning port cutout.
Flanking the cutout, you will find a right-sided 3/8 inches wide by 1/8 inches tall speaker cutout and a left-sided 9/16 inches wide by 1/8 inches tall speaker cutout. The inner surface of the case was lined with a smooth protective felt layer. The atom studios name was printed along the bottom left of the panel, while a 3/16 inches thick by 2 1/8 inches diameter MagSafe ring could be found along the middle of the panel.
For those interested in an easy installation process, look no further than the atom studios case. Start by sliding the right edge of your phone into the case; align the volume toggle, the volume buttons with the cutout/buttons on the case, and then press your thumbs along the top edge, left side, and the bottom edge of the phone/case. You will hear and feel a refreshing click as you install the case.
I was pleased with the placement of the cutouts, with the raised bezel on the camera, the raised front on the case, and the easily accessible lightning port. The size/shape of the lightning port allowed full access for even the largest of lightning chargers. The case design allowed for wireless charging and included MagSafe compatible built-in magnets.
The company website noted that the magnets were 50% thicker than standard magnets. I paired the case with the Pitaka MagEZ Slider and enjoyed the secure fit. Despite the robust features of the case, I found the volume toggle cutout to be a bit small for my index finger. I have grown to enjoy the crown wheel toggle on catalyst Impact Protection cases and feel that it is superior to the cutout setup.
To test the protection of the case, I dropped the phone onto each corner, at about 1 foot and 2-foot heights, to simulate an accidental drop. I also dropped the phone onto the back and onto the front panels, both onto the carpet and my wooden floor. I was pleased to find no damage to the phone, or to the shell.
I believe the case will pair nicely with the iPhone 13 Pro Max to reduce the chances of a more catastrophic injury. Outside of the volume toggle port, the remaining cutouts were well placed. The volume/power buttons were quite responsive, and the slim design allowed for easy placement into a pocket.
